Approval procedures for products manufactured by NBT (Novel Breeding Technologies) should be simplified. A citizens' initiative was launched by students of Wageningen University, which requires one million signatures from at least seven different Member States.
"The aim is to improve scientific progress in the European Union while protecting human and animal health and the environment."
