p-Aminobenzoic acid is a building block of folic acid. It is therefore not a vitamin in itself, but is nevertheless frequently classified as a B vitamin.

Malabadi et al. (2005) used PABA (0.2 g/l, sterile-filtered) as an additive in a culture medium which has been developed for the initiation of PLBs orproliferating shoot budsfrom thin shoot tip sections of Dendrobium nobile.
