Macro & micro nutrients for in vitro culture of various orchid species. Originally, the medium was developed by Knudson (1946) for seed germination, but its use in other stages of culture has also been referred to on many occasions. This modification is similar to that described by Arditti in Table ARANDA-8 (Arditti, 2017), with the difference that sodium molybdate replaces molybdic acid, which is of toxicological concern. Compared to Knudson's original "Solution C", this modification also contains the other microelements boron, zinc, molybdenum and copper.
The Knudson C base salts are often enriched with further additives such as vitamins and buffers or complex additives such as coconut water, pineapple- or banana powder.
