Also known as MS-Medium. Contains macroelements, microelements and vitamins such as described by MURASHIGE & SKOOG (1962). Contains MES-Buffer. This buffer is not metabolized by eucaryotic cells. Buffering range: pH 5,5 - 6,7

Warning: Autoclaving of MES buffer, especially in combination with MS salts, is not recommended. A more efficient way is to add sterile filtrated MES buffer after autoclaving. However, this formulation can be used to test quickly if buffering solves problems like pH drop during culture. Please don't try to filtrate concentrated stock solutions, it will block the filter due to formation of precipitates immediately.
