In tissue culture, L-Cysteine is used as an anti-oxidative additive in plant culture media or the pretreatment of explants with incised wounds.
Dosage examples
- a solution containing 50 mg/l cysteine can be used to treat explants directly after excision
- 2 mg/l - 40 mg/l cysteine can be added to the culture media (sterile filtration is recommended)
The dosage is typically dependent from the plant species and type of explant.
