Iron chelated by DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid)
Mass fraction Fe: 7% (1 g contains about 70 mg Fe).
This iron chelate is reliably effective to pH 7. Recommended if higher concentrations of phosphate, humic acid and lime are present.
Importance of iron in plant metabolism
Iron is constantly required during plant growth. It is a component of many enzymes and catalyzes the formation of precursors of chlorophyll - that group of materials that gives plants their characteristic green color. Chlorophylls and various iron-containing enzymes (eg ferredoxin or cytochrome b6f complex) are required for the light reactions in the plant, which provides the necessary energy for the plant growth. Therefore, iron is essential for the plant. In order to ensure optimal growth, this micro element should always be available.
